I always love reading the trend reports from NYFW and scrolling through photos and videos from the runway. This year I decided to take it one step further and put together my own outfits inspired by NYFW Spring/Summer 2019 shows using only items I could find at Goodwill! It was a really fun project and I was able to find and alter several pieces to create 3 final looks. If you haven’t seen my vlog of the whole process, watch it below!
Amidst my declutter frenzy the other day, I came across a little pack of elastic (or so I thought) and the idea dawned on me to try to make my own scrunchies! It turns out the pack I had found was just elastic-looking string with no stretch whatsoever, but luckily I found some actual elastic halfway through the project, and hey — glad the non-elastic string still sparked the idea!
It took me a couple of years of trying different editing techniques before I felt like "okay, I'm good at this." I remember even 3 years ago, Nathan had to convince me that Lightroom would save so much time (I was even thinking of editing an entire wedding in Photoshop -- what?!) and now I can't believe I even questioned him. I was just intimidated to learn a new program, though, to be honest. I've never been the best about getting ahead of the game on new software and technology etc.
In college was when I really started to struggle for the first time. I lived with all girls who were SO amazing and particularly determined to form a culture that promoted healthy body image, but I still experienced the culture of the rest of my campus…
