DIY Christmas Words Garland

As I mentioned in my Christmas Tree Train post, I’ve been looking for fun ways to add more meaning (and fun!) to my Christmas decor, while keeping things beautiful and classic at the same time. I love the song O Holy Night, especially the lyrics “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,” and wanted a way to incorporate them into the decor. I also wanted to find fun elements beyond the usual garlands and trees and ornaments and a way to add new textures into the mix.

I bought this box of letters on Amazon, which comes with 4 of each letter — enough to write out most short phrases. I painted the letters red, and then found some leftover wire, made loops and hot glued them to the back. I loved this natural rope string that I already had from a past project. I strung the letters on and hung the garland from the stocking hooks!

The easiest Christmas DIY ever… and now, what should I do with all the leftover wooden letters?!
